Palmer, Emmeline (25 JUN 1816 - 16 MAR 1884)

Died, of consumption, Sunday noon, March 16, 1884, Mrs. Emmeline Palmer, wife of Rev. Harvey Palmer.

The subject of this notice was born in Russia, Herkimer County, N.Y., remaining there until failing health compelled removal to another climate, hoping by the change to prolong her life. The came to Wisconsin in 1853, settling in LaFayette County. Bro. Palmer was recognized as an efficient laborer in the Lord's vineyard, and was urged to join the Wis. Conference of the M.E. Church. At the division of the conference Bro. Palmer remained in the bounds of the West Wis. Conference, and the two traveled for nine years doing good work for the Master.

In the fall of 1863 they came to this county (Clark) and settled in Neillsville, where she has since resided till her death on Sunday last. Deceased has been an invalid, and at times an acute sufferer for more than thirty years, bearing her affliction, however, with a perfect submission to the Father's will. She has led an exemplary life from her childhood, passing into a pronounce Christian life so gradually as hardly to know the time of conversion. Her piety was unobtrusive but unmistakable, loved most by those who knew her most. She being dead, yet speaketh.
