Dore, Hannah (19 APR 1816 - 24 APR 1888)

Died, in the village of Lake Benton, Minn., on April 24th, 1888, of paralysis, Mrs. Hannah Dore, aged seventy-one years and five days.

The deceased was born in Farmington, Maine, removed to Princeton, Wis., in 1850, where she remained 18 years. In 1884 she came to Lake Benton and has lived up to the time of her death with her son, Ruel A. Dore, where she has received the kindest possible attention, wanting for nothing to render her comfortable. Mrs. Dore professed conversion and was baptized when fourteen years of age. She was a woman strictly moral in her deportment and was always ready and willing to help the helpless and to do some good in the world. Her motherly instruction and moral example were highly esteemed by all who knew her. She leaves a son and a daughter and many acquaintances to mourn her departure. The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church. The esteem in which she was held was evinced by a large attendance at the funeral and who followed her remains to the burying grounds. "She rests from her labors and her works do follow her." (Lake Benton, Minn. News)

It will be remembered by our oldest inhabitants that Mrs. Dore was formerly a resident of Clark County, she having lived with the family of John Dore, in the town of Grant, for seventeen years prior to her going to Lake Benton four years ago.
