Hakola, Arthur Albert (1 Jan. 1912 - 20 June 1993)


Arthur Albert Hakola, age 81, Loyal, Clark County, died June 20, 1993 at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 23, 1993, at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.


Arthur Albert Hakola was born Jan. 1, 1912 in Republic, Mo., to Otto and Jenny Maria (Mattson) Hakola. He received his education in Clark County. He served overseas in New Guinea during World War II, worked in a factory in Illinois and was married to Gertrude Wirtala, July 28, 1945 in Waukegan, Ill. They moved to the Loyal area in 1950 and farmed until 1971. After moving into Loyal, Arthur Hakola worked at Amax Aluminum, Marshfield, and later the foundry in Neillsville. He retired from Green Thumb in 1990.


Survivors include his wife, Gertrude three children, Arthur (Susan), River Falls Maria (James) Elsinger, Loyal and Karen Hakola, Loyal and two grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
