Paul Herman Brandt, 87, Spencer, died Friday, March 18, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 1994, at the United Methodist Church, Loyal. Rev. Steve Groves officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood, Clark County Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Elwood Schmidt, Mclfort Molle, Wayne Molle, Ted Sanwald and Garth Luchterhand.


Paul Herman Brandt was born on March 30, 1906, in the Town of Beaver, to John and Minnie (nee Rossow) Brandt. He received his education at Maple Center in the Town of Beaver. He married Bertha Severson on Dec. 10, 1928, in Greenwood.


She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1971. He farmed with his parents in the Town of Beaver until 1946. He then worked at several mink farms around the state until 1965. He then moved to Spencer and worked at Load O Lakes until his retirement in 1971. In 1973 he moved to Loyal and was the first resident at Hometown Village. In 1985 he moved back to Spencer and worked part-time at Black River Campers as a maintenance person. He also helped distribute commodities in the Loyal area. He was a member of Spencer Senior Citizens and a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church.


Survivors include one son, John (Virjean) Brandt, Marshfield one daughter, Darlene (Leonard) Nelson, Racine five grandchildren two step-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Freida Mellenthin.


He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
