He was born in New York in a suburban town near New York city fifty-two years ago last June. He came from the East to Black River Falls in 1856, at which place he was married to Miss Anna Graham in 1863, who was also from the East. In Dec. 1872, they moved to this city, where for five or six years Mr. Brown was manager of Jas. Hewett's store. Since then he has at different times been employed by other mercantile firms of this city, whenever a faithful competent man was wanted. He leaves a wife and three daughters, the youngest two of whom live at home, the oldest is the wife of W. P. Miller, formerly of this city. The stricken family has the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church at 2 o'clock Pm., on Tuesday, Rev. Robert Evatt officiating. |
