FERDINAND LANGRECK


Ferdinand Ferd John Langreck, 85, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, May 21, 1994, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Father Steven Baures officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwood.


Pallbearers were Antone Langreck, Frances Langreck, Harold Langreck, Jim Horn, Robert Wieting and John Wieting.


Ferdinand Langreck was born on May 9, 1909, in St. Lucas, Iowa, to John and Mary (nee Meiners) Langreck. He received his education in Neillsville. He then farmed and worked on the railroad.


He married Cecelia Wilson on Aug. 27, 1935, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville. She died on Jan. 8, 1994. After their marriage, he farmed in Neillsville for two years and then moved to Greenwood and farmed. He worked for Roddis from 1948 to 1964. He bought Parkway Bar in 1963 and operated it until 1976. After his retirement he worked for Green Thumb. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Holy Name Society and Catholic foresters.


Survivors include eight children, Francis (Marie) Langreck, Cottage Grove, Minn. Mrs. Lawrence (Josie) Lindner, Greenwood Joseph (Mary) Langreck, Lancaster Mrs. Frank (Mary) Trunkel, Woodville Mrs. Richard (Pat) Scherer, Greenwood Mrs. Neil (Janet) Krause, Curtiss Robert (Elaine) Langreck, Spencer and Gregory (Cathy) Langreck, Greenwood 34 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Agnes Aumann and Rose Noll, both of Memorial Home in Neillsville.


He was preceded in death by his parents his wife two children, Cecelia and Donald three grandchildren five brothers and one sister.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
