Mathewson, Virginia V. (18 JUL 1912 - 3 JAN 2002)


OWEN - Virginia V. Mathewson, 89, formerly of Owen, Clark County, died Jan. 3, 2002, in Oshkosh due to stroke complications.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Owen. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born July 18, 1912, in Rock Island, Ill., to Peter and Anna (nee Christiansen) Swanson. Virginia married Kenneth L. Mathewson on July 11, 1935. She taught fifth grade at Owen Elementary School for 28 years, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Moore of Brillion son, Jeffrey (Judy) Mathewson of Franklin four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
