Leid, James Shirk (14 JUL 1975 - 5 JUN 2002)


THORP - James Shirk Leid, 26, of Thorp, Clark County, died June 5, 2002, at Victory Medical Center in Stanley.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stanley Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the family home.

The Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was born July 14, 1975, in Ephrata, Pa., the son of Alvin B. and Mary (Shirk) Leid. He married Julia R. Brubaker in Ephrata on Oct. 17, 1996. He worked as a dairy farmer. He was also an ordained deacon for the Stanley Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife Julia, three sons, Matthew B., James B. and Martin B., all at home his parents, Alvin B. and Mary Leid of Ephrata, Pa. five brothers, Edward (Minnie) Leid of Dundee, N.Y., Alvin (Alma) Leid of Thorp, Daniel (Mary) Leid of Thorp, John (Mary) Leid of Ephrata, Pa., and Mark Leid of Ephrata, Pa. and his sister, Mary Leid of Ephrata, Pa.
