Dickinson, Carrie (15 Jan 1875 - 19 Sep 1899)

Again has the grim specter, Death, invaded an indeed happy home and enrolled upon its already swollen list of Neillsville, Clark County people gone to their last resting place, the name of a much loved and respected young lady, Miss Carrie Dickinson, whose life went out in the early dawn of Tuesday morn. Though not unexpected, her death came in the nature of a severe shock, not only to the family and her immediate friends, but to the whole community in which she had so long been held in high regard.

The cause of her untimely demise was lung trouble with which she had long been a patient sufferer.

In company with friends, Mrs. Blakeslee and daughter Cora, of Sparta, Miss Dickinson spent the winter of '95 in Utah, and it was there her fatal disease was contracted. She returned home after a serious siege of illness with pneumonia, which later developed into consumption.

Miss Dickinson was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Decatur Dickinson and was born in Neillsville, Jan. 15, 1875. She was reared to womanhood in this city, graduated from the high school and later attended the State University for one year. The sorrow and regret at her death is felt by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Miss Dickinson was a most estimable young lady, prominent in society circles of the city and was possessor of a sweet and sunny disposition.

Funeral services will be held from the family home at two o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Owen of Arcadia, officiating.
