Muck, Gottlieb (6 MAR 1835 - 17 FEB 1900)

Gottlieb Muck died at his home on the North Side (Neillsville, Clark County) Saturday evening, Feb. 17th, 1900. He was apparently in his usual health in the morning was downtown chatting with his friends, but shortly before noon was taken with pains in his chest and stomach. Medical aid was summoned, but in spite of all that could be done, he suddenly sank back and died about 7 o'clock p.m. Deceased was born in Branbach, Germany, March 6, 1835 came to America in 1852. He was married to Elizabeth Miller and resided at Jefferson, Wis., till about ten years ago. He bought a farm in the town of York and lived there until about two years ago, when he moved to Neillsville. He leaves a widow and three sons and two daughters. The children are all grown up, one daughter residing at home.

While somewhat retired from active business, Mr. Muck was considered a most substantial citizen and by his cheery manner had won many friends here. A short funeral service was held at the residence Monday forenoon by G. W. Longenecker, and the remains taken to his old home at Jefferson for interment.

The family desire to thanks those who assisted in their hour of trial.
