Beware of those "Trial" Subscriptions!
I just got off the phone with Ancestry.com I signed up for an annual fee with the 14 day free trial knowing I would cancel before the 14 days were up. well you can't get through. they have a 10 min wait they say. I called and called and now they want to charge me 24.95 a month for a year!!!!! I finally waited the 10 min. which was actually 26 minutes. They said I had agreed to the charge and therefore there isn't anything they can do. I finally got another person and she agree to let me pay the one month charge and then they would cancel my subscription. I had gone to their website to see how I could contact them and couldn't find anything. They aren't very customer friendly. So if you know of anyone who wants that free trial, make them aware of this situation and be sure to cancel before their 14 days are up. Bea Porter |
