Bagle/Beagle worm plus 3 trojans
I received an email today with an attachment called fotos.zip. I got caught off guard because I never suspected anything was wrong. It came from someone I knew, and my Yahoo Norton Anti-Virus said the attachment was virus free. I started feeling uncomfortable about trying to open the file so I contacted my friend and she said she didn't send any fotos. I ran my Norton AntiVirus, which I had updated the definitions on 8/25, and it did not find anything. But I was unable to do a Virus Definition Update, which I thought was strange. I went to an online virus removal site and it said I had the Bagle/Beagle worm plus 3 trojans. I spent 4 1/2 hours trying to get these little buggers out of my computer. I had to use spyware removal tools plus 2 different on-line virus removal tools. I think I have everything cleaned out and I was able to update my virus definitions again. From what I read this version of the Bagle/Beagle worm just came out. Mary |
