Good Old Days

The changing of the Seasons in Central Wisconsin can be varied and occasionally exhibit surprises.  Some photographers have recorded some unusual “weather” happenings in our area.

This time of the year, framers thoughts turn to filling the soil in preparation for planting the fields as soon as the frost is out and the ground is ready.  The gardeners have their flower plots all planned, just waiting for the warming trend.  Fishermen are eager to get their boats on the lakes or go cruising down the river.

Spring means a season of rebirth in outdoor activities; recreational events will abound once again.

With guard rails as their guide, motorists drove their cars through the water which covered the roadway on Highway 10, hoping the road was still there.

The Hoesly’s were seeding small grain on their farm, which is now owned by Dale and MaryAnn Meyer and son.

Suds and more suds covered O’Neill Creek during the March 1968 run-off.  Many of us can remember the sight as it moved downstream.  Some townspeople were watching the mound of suds that collected along the Grand Avenue Bridge railing.

This scene was captured by the old Grand Avenue Bridge which was over the creek.  A young fellow waded through the suds and stood in front of a bush, partially visible in the suds.
