Foster Township has no towns or cemeteries of its own and those who have resided there have generally became involved in the community affairs of the nearby hubs of activity.

The tavern above was located near Rock Dam, on a sight just above the bridge over Hay Creek.  The first tavern was, to the best of my knowledge, an old railroad car brought in and set on this sight. (details provided by Frank Pakiz)

Area Churches

The Residents of Foster Township attended many area churches, including:

The Kote Church (1915 North Foster map shows this congregation owned 100 acres in section 25)

St. Mary's Catholic Church (Greenwood, Eaton Twp., Clark Co.)

Organizations

Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club

The Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club was organized in 1946.  Some of the old buildings were moved to the present site and the buildings were then built new in 1969.  In 1993, Roy Trynsk was president, Jean Ketterhagen was clerk/treasurer and the Vice President was George Klovas.  Jean had been in office for about 10 years.  The club is a non-profit organization which promotes conservation, natural resources, wild life, and fish.  The active group has many fund-raisers during the year such as their grilled chicken dinner, smelt fish feed, wild game feed and many other events.  The club has a good membership and a fan club to be involved with.  It is the dedicated people who have made this club what it is today.
