Granton Class of 1947

The class of 1947 of the Granton High School held its 10-year reunion Saturday.  In the afternoon a general get-together was held at the high school, and at 7:30 p.m. the Ladies Aid served a supper at the parish hall. Thirteen members of a class of 24 attended.  Mrs. Vernon (Jean Nickel) Sternitzky was master of ceremonies.

Prizes were awarded to Duane Scholtz for having traveled the longest distance (his home is in Rockford, Ill.); and the first married, Marion (Winter) Pannier of Granton (she was also awarded a prize for still looking like her graduation picture).  Delmar Sternitzky also resembled his graduation picture.

Those attending from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Paun, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Beverly Hahm) Matkovich, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Evelyn) Smith Nimmer, all of Milwaukee; Duane Scholtz, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack True, Clintonville; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rosandich, Lodi; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Madler, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Sternitzky, Spencer.

Those from Granton were: Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anding; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon (Jean Nickel) Sternitzky; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Marion Winter) Pannier; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch; and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Alma Todd) Franke, Chili.

Four teachers completed the gathering. (Their names were cut off at the bottom of the article.)
