Zelm's Cheese Factory

Hwy. 73 in Longwood, Wisconsin

William Zelm bought Longwood Cheese Factory in 1926 from E. A. Laabs. He owned and operated it until his death in April of 1928.

Edwin R. Zelm ran the cheese factory for his mother, Anna Zelm. He later purchased it and operated it until his death on 3 Jan 1950. His mother died in April of 1950.

William A. Zelm, owned and operated the Longwood cheese factory pictured above.  He purchased it from E. A. Laabs. Prior to his residence in Longwood, he had made his home at Tony, Wis., where he operated a cheese factory for about four years.  He built up a fine business, and established himself with the public as a good businessman and a good citizen.  Alton H. Jenkins, who operated a farm owned by Otto Wetzel (his father-in-law) was also one of Zelm's trusted employees.  Alternate View.
