1952 Spring Carnival

In 1952 the "new" Dorchester Memorial Hall was completed. In celebration there was a "contest" among the local schools whereby each was to give a performance. Hilltop School students sang "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" and "Easter Parade" and took first prize!

Once again Teresa Grewe had designed the costumes and choreographed the performance. The mothers had sewn the dresses worn by the "younger"girls. Teresa Grewe decorated each of them with large, colorful tulips drawn with crayons. On the upper left of the bodice, each had a bluebird also drawn with crayons.  I still have my dress.
