JAMES BONELL, carriage maker, Eau Claire, firm of Boneli Bros., was born in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. Sept. 19, 1832. Came to United States about 1850, and located in Milwaukee. After spending some time in Waukesha, Chicago and Kansas City, moved to Eau Claire in 1857, and engaged in wagon making. Ran two or three years, then went to farming some two years. Then returned to town, and commenced present business. Married, April, 1858. Had six children, of whom three survive — Charles William, Benjamin Walter and Roy Garfield.
