Merry Masqueraders.

A very large and happy gathering assembled at Music. Hall Saturday evening on the occasion of the inaugural masquerade of the Unterhaultingverein. The weather was cold, walking bad, but the gay throng who had anticipated the enjoyment of the evening would afford, would not be deterred by such trifles, and 9 o'clock found the hall crowded with the merry masqueraders, in every costume that human skill could devise, while the gallery and sides of the hall were lined with-spectators, who though not caring to mingle with the dancers, yet enjoyed themselves fully as much in watching the grotesque figures and antics of those on the floor. It would be a hopeless task to try to enumerate all the costumes worn by these present, but among the most noticeable might be mentioned the following lady " makeups:" Mrs. Wm. Weidner and Mrs. M. Horns, Fish girls; Mrs. Aug. Droege, gypsy; Miss Lizzie Cooper, snow; Miss Katie Schlevartz, Queen of Night; Miss Louisa Droege, Ballet dancer; Mary Halbleib, comic suit; Miss Elma Bliss, plain masque; Miss Annie Wescott, old maid; Miss Mary Molded, Morning Star; Lizzie Kehr, Clowness; Emma Kneer, comic costume; Kate Warner, Evening Star; Annie Miller, School girl; Julia Readel, Miss Monatt; Dora Schaeffer, Flower girl; Lizzie Zimmerman, Flower girl; Amelia Raedell, Queen of Night; Julia Raedell, Bride; Maggie Smith, Bridegroom; Chester Eldridge, Oscar Wilde; Mary Rolands, Riding girl; Carrie Warner, Evening Star; G. Radensleben, Mrs Jno Hanck; Shepherdess; H. C. Hartman, Prince of Wales. The ball room was the center of attraction, dancing being kept up till a seasonable hour. The company finally dispersing, voting the event one of the pleasantest of the season.
