Young Men's Club Masque.

As previously announced the annual ball en masque under the management of the Young Men's Club occurred last evening and so far proved to be the grand social event of the season. The attendance, of masqueraders and spectators were quite large fully in numbers meeting the expectations of the committee of arrangements and the floor was in excellent condition for the dancers. The music is very highly spoken of and was furnished by Vinton's, full orchestra occupying the north side of the hall instead of a position on the stage. The stage room was given up to the accommodation of spectators as well as the gallery, both of which were crowded to their full seating capacity by interested spectators who vied with each other in their endeavors to recognize those who were masqued. A more brilliant assemblage has not been seen in Music Hall for a long time. There were at least from seventy-five to a hundred who wore costumes some of which were of a most elegant and costly nature. The various characters generally were well personated and the disguises were so complete that to recognize, with the exception of a few was almost impossible. The affair was well conducted reflecting great credit on the part of those who had the affair in charge. The entertainment was kept up till the seasonable hour of four when the merry company betook themselves to their homes. Owing to the crowded condition of the reception room, it was impossible to give a complete list of those who appeared in costume, but with the assistance of one of the committee of arrangements we are able to present the following:
