---Eddy, Royal “Roy” Herbert (28 August 1890 – 10 April 1956)

 

Roy Eddy, 65, a former resident of the Town of Levis and lately of Black River Falls, died April 10 as the result of a heart ailment.  He had been ill for several years.

 

Royal Herbert Eddy, son of the late Edgar and Clara (Howard) Eddy, was born August 29, 1890, in the town of Little Falls, Monroe County.  He grew to manhood there and received his education in the Cataract schools.  He spent his entire life farming.

 

On February 3, 1913, he was married to Lulu Sage at Winona, Minn.  Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Cataract until 1946, when they moved to the Town of Levis.  They resided there until last fall, when they moved to a farm north of Black River Falls.

 

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. William (Fern) Ward, Wienvield, Mo.; Mrs. Frank (Sylvia) McMahn, Cataract; Edgar Eddy, Neillsville; Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Heuer, Cataract; Roy Eddy, Jr., Neillsville; Gerald Eddy, with the air force in Alaska; Kenneth Eddy, Neillsville, and Jack Eddy of Beloit.  Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Davis of Black River Falls, and Mrs. Pearl Matthews of Black River Falls; and four brothers, Arthur, John, Hugh and Charles Eddy, all of Black River Falls.

 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Black River Falls, with the Rev. Wayne Grover officiating.  Burial was made in the Cataract Cemetery.

 

The body reposed at the Bergemann Funeral Home in Neillsville until Saturday morning, when it was taken to the church in Black River Falls.

 

Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased: Vance Davidson, Cecil, Donald, Gary, Robert Eddy and Donald Preston.

 

In charge of flowers were Mrs. Roy Olson, Mrs. Leo Cole, Mrs. Margarie Kane and Mrs. Grace Hammon.

 

Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank McMahn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Heuer and family, Cataract; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Eddy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eddy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eddy, Jr., all of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Eddy and son of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Eddy, Great Falls, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Tucker and daughter, Richland Center; Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Eddy and family, Mitchell, S.
