The remains of Harry Deering, who passed away at Tucson, Arizona on June 8th arrived in the city Sunday and burial services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the First Presbyterian church, preceded by a short private service at the home of the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Frank Groth, 713 West Western street.

The deceased, who finally succumbed to the ravages of that dread disease, tuberculosis, with which he has been suffering for the past five years, was born in Kaukauna 34 years ago, but has been a resident of this city practically all his life. Before he became ill with the malady, which his caused his death, he was employed as machinist in the round house at the Northwestern yards. He was a veteran of the world war where he served with a machine gun outfit.

In 1918 Mr. Deering was united in marriage to Miss Frieda Below of Spencer, their union being blessed with one child, Lucille, now six years old. Besides the grief stricken wife, who has faithfully cared for him all during his illness, he is survived by his mother, one sister, Mrs. Wesley Hayden, Sherry; and four brothers, George, Milwaukee; Arthur, Minneapolis; William, address unknown and Edward at home.

Mr. Deering was a member of the American Legion, the Railroad Brotherhood and the local Aerie of Eagles.
