Mrs. Teresa V. Schwantes, 79, of 620 Laurel Court died at 4:10 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit. She had been admitted to the hospital earlier in the day.

Rembs/Kundinger Chapel is handling arrangements.

Services for Teresa V. Schwantes, 79, of 620 Laurel Court, who died at 4:10 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church.

The Rev. John S. LaPorte will officiate. Music will be provided by Mrs. Helen Brinkmann, organist, for St. John’s Church Choir. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Stratford.

Pallbearers will be George Schieber, Jr., Harold Glowacki, Arvid Winberg, Lawrence P. Junemann, Donald Frodl, and LeRoy Guldan.

Visitation will be at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday. A St. John’s Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a parish prayer service at 7:30, with the Rev. Anthony Fischer officiating.

She was born Dec. 21, 1909, in Stratford, to John and Mary Junemann. She attended Stratford area schools.

She was married to Leonard Shape in March 1940. He died Feb. 14, 1956. She was married to Raymond Schwantes Oct. 14, 1959. He died Nov. 17, 1977.

She had lived in Stratford before moving to Tomahawk, Merrill, Medford and Wisconsin Rapids, where she worked as a waitress. She then lived in Wausau from 1959-78. After the death of her second husband, she returned to Stratford for a short time before moving to Marshfield.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lucille R. Fosholdt of Menomonee Falls, three grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by her parents and one brother.
