Delores Knauf, 90, Marathon, died Friday, November 20, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home.

 

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at St.

Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in

the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

 

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.

Delores Knauf 90, Marathon, died Friday, November 20, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home.

 

She was born June 20, 1919 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Baur) Fischer.

 

Her first marriage was to Edwin Abel in Marathon, he died in an automobile accident

during their first year of marriage.

 

In September of 1946, she married Philip Knauf. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1974.

 

Delores was a member of the PCCW and was involved with various church activities.

She also enjoyed helping out at the St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon. Among her many interests, she enjoyed gardening, flowers and most of all, spending time with her family.

 

Survivors include, four sons, James (Rose) Knauf, Philip "Butch" Knauf Jr., Thomas

Knauf and Larry Knauf, all of Marathon; two daughters, Phyllis (Gerald) Klinger,

Rhinelander and Mary Jane (LaVerne) Furger, Marathon; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

 

Besides her parents and Edwin and Philip Sr., she was preceded in death by one

granddaughter, Kathleen (Klinger) Maguire; three brothers; and two sisters.
