Obituary
Peter Hopfensperger
Peter Hopfensperger, 81. rural Spencer, a former Junction City resident, died Thursday afternoon at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been residing for the past two years.
Born Feb. 6, 1887, at Darby, Mr. Hopfensperger was married Sept. 16, 1908, to the former Amelia Feirke at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spencer.
The couple lived in Calumet County for three years, then moved to Junction City and farmed there until retirement in 1954.
In 1962. following the death of his wife. Mr. Hopfensperger went to live with a son Wilmer in Spencer, until moving to the convalescent home.
A charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Junction City, he was a member of St. John's Church in Spencer. Mr. Hopfensperger is survived by his son: four brothers, William. Rozellviile, and Harry.
Eugene and Ray. Appleton: four sisters. Mrs. Helene Grosser. Mrs. Tressa Covene and Mrs. Anna Jones, Appleton. and Mrs. Joanne Wallace. Green Bay: 13 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Church in Spencer. the Rev. M. L. Yonker officiating, with burial following in the West Spencer Cemetery.
