Clifford R. Neitzel, 84, Town of Holway, was pronounced dead Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the emergency room of Memorial Health Center in Medford, where he had been taken earlier by ambulance.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, with Pastor Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating. Interment was at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Holway. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Cody, Cole, Doug and Derrick Neitzel and Josh and Jim Adams.
Clifford Neitzel was born March 23, 1924 in the Town of Holway to the late Charles and Caroline (Ried) Neitzel. He attended Town of Holway Elementary School. He worked road construction.
On July 25, 1953 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church he married Annabelle Krug, who survives.
They farmed in the Town of Holway until retirement in 1998. While farming he also worked at Niemuth Implement and Mundt's Garage, both in Stetsonville, and also did woods work.
He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and working on antique tractors.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Adele (Steve) Adams of the Town of Holway; three sons, Greg (Debby), Jeff (Patty) and Kevin, all of the Town of Holway; two brothers, Ernest (Adeline) of Owen and Walter of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Ann Hamus of Colby and Mildred Hamm of Curtiss; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Elmer and three sisters, Edna Smith, Hilda Borski and Lily Sann.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
