Frederick A. Decker, age 59 years, of Medford, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Langlade Memorial Hospital in Antigo. A prayer service was held Wednesday, July 28 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Father Gerard Willger officiating.


Fred was born on November 24, 1950 to Frank and Neva (Sulik) Decker in Dorchester.

He received his education at Medford High School. He served his country in the National Guard for 34 years. He worked as a drywaller and owned his own business, Decker Interior Finished LLC.


Fred lived life to the fullest; he thrived on lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He loved listening and dancing to bluegrass music and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids and friends.


Fred is lovingly survived by his children, Kevin (Alicia) Decker of Hudson, Lori (David) Frandy of Manitowish Waters, Eric (Katie) Decker of Medford and Shaun Decker of Medford; his grandchildren, Broden Decker, Wyatt, Skylar and Morgan Frandy and Kameron Decker; his fiancé, Darlene Anderson; his brothers and sisters, Claudette Saladin, Rachel Louret, Kris (Roger) Ellenbecker, Frank "Joe" (Judy) Decker and Mike (Connie) Decker. Fred is further survived by many additional extended family including, Neil and Holly Anderson, their children Burgundy, Brandon, Blake, Brennen, Bradynn, Brady; and Tim and Amanda Spaeth and their children, Chelsey and William.


In lieu of flowers, donations will be dedicated to a memorial established by the family at a later date.
