----Tollin, B. Carol (February 28, 1920 - July 7, 2008)

 

B. Carol Tollin, 88, Medford, passed away Monday, July 7 at the Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center in Medford under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.

 

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 11 at 1 p.m. at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Holton, Marathon County. Visitation begins at 11 a.m.

 

B. Carol Tollin was born February 28, 1920 to the late Jesse and Rose (Peacock) Hall in Belvidere, Ill.

 

She attended grade school in Poplar Grove, Ill. and later graduated from Belvidere High School. Following high school, Carol worked for the Greenlee Corp. in Illinois.

 

She married Carl Tollin on Sept. 2, 1945 in Calendonia, Ill.

 

Carol and Carl moved to Abbotsford in 1967 and later they began farming in the town of Mayville from 1971 until they both retired from farming in 1976. Her husband Carl passed away July 26, 1990. Carol was a member of the Homemakers Club in the town of Mayville and a past member of VASA and Brahe Lodge’s in Ill. In her spare time she loved to embroider and crochet.

 

She is lovingly survived by her two sons, David (Charlotte) Tollin of Roscoe, Illinois and Bruce Tollin of Medford. Carol is further survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Kuikman of Chicago, Ill., Patricia (Richard) Myers of Rockford, Ill., Melissa (Thomas Schoenfuss) Tollin of Colby and Kristy (Adam Strey) Tollin of Loyal and her great grandchildren: Kaila and Cody Kuelz, Matthew, Wendy, Kimberly and Andrew Kuikman, Evan Myers, Maeghan, Carol and Brandon Weiler, Kirsten Schoenfuss, Tyler Geiger, Alex Best, Hayden Kops, and Ava and Emma Strey. Also survived by many other relatives and friends.
