Allen J. Smedegard Sr., 80, died Saturday, July 26.
Burial was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill., with military honors, including a 21 gun salute from U.S. veterans.
Allen Smedegard was born August 6, 1927 in Medford to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Smedegard.
On June 18, 1949 in Rib Lake, he married Nellie Bucki, who preceded him in death on January 11, 2007. He served in the United States Navy overseas for four years.
Survivors include his children, Nancy, Susan and Allen Jr.; and a brother, Leon.
