Robert "Stub" A. Clausnitzer, 93, Medford, died Monday, Oct. 25 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford, where he had resided the past six months.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Bill Clausnitzer, Ryan Heglund, Frank Gifford, Cheryl Bohl, Dawn Carpenter, Kimberly Espinosa and Patsy King.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


Robert Clausnitzer was born March 15, 1917 in Medford to the late Otto H. and Esther (Reichardt) Clausnitzer Sr. He attended Medford elementary schools. In his early years, he worked in Milwaukee at Allis Chalmers for a period of time.


On June 22, 1940 at Whittlesey Lutheran Church, he married Viola Frey, who survives. He worked at the Medford Creamery and Hurd Millwork for periods of time, then owned and operated Clausnitzer Beverage Co. in Medford for over 30 years. He then drove shuttle truck for Tombstone Pizza until his retirement.


He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and charter member of Whittlesey Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards.


In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Bob (Joan) of Appleton, Ruth (Jim) Gifford of Rapid City, S.D., and Linda (Dave) Heglund of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Doris (Robert) Tacke of Medford; a brother, Alfred (Donna) of Medford; a sister-in-law, Jane Clausnitzer of Medford; a brother-in-law, Orme Murray of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one step-great-great-grandchild.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Murray and Alda Frey; and three brothers, Herman in infancy, David and Otto Jr.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
