----Lange, Louise E. (Berndt) (July 17, 1917 - February 25, 2010)

 

Louise E. Lange, 92, Medford, died Thursday, Feb. 25 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where she had resided the past two years.


Funeral services were held Monday, March 1 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Pastor Nancy Amacher officiating. Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

 

Pallbearers were Vic Tonelli, Craig Lange, Bob Mello, Bill Resch and Steve and Dennis Berndt.

The former Louise Berndt was born July 17, 1917 in the Town of Molitor to the late Frank and Meta (Clausnitzer) Berndt Sr. She worked in Milwaukee as a nanny.


On July 27, 1940 in Medford, she married Louis "Louie" G. Lange, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1984.

 

They farmed in the Town of Molitor for 40 years until selling the cows in 1978. She also did housekeeping jobs in the Medford area. In 2000, she moved into Medford.


She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and past member of the NFO where she supervised many meals and activities. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, trips to the casino and her grandchildren.


Survivors include two sons, Gene (Sheila) of Eagan, Minn., and Larry (Sandra) of Merrill; a sister, Viola Pagel of Bothell, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Aletta Berndt of Antigo; four grandchildren; Sheri (Bob) Mello, Lori (Vic) Tonelli, and Michelle and Craig (Tracy) Lange; seven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Dewey Kaiser of Glen Flora.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin, Frank Jr. and Roy.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the family for future designation.
