----Jochimsen, Kempus E. (March 16, 1932 - March 13, 2010)

 

Kempus "Kemp" E. Jochimsen, 77, Medford, died Saturday, March 13 at his home, while under the care of his family and hospice.

 

Funeral services were held Monday, March 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Fr. Frederick P. Brost officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in the Town of Little Black. Family members and friends served as pallbearers.


Kempus Jochimsen was born March 16, 1932 in Medford to the late Arno and Clara (Allgeier) Jochimsen. He attended Spruce Grove Elementary School in the Town of Deer Creek.


On June 2, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church he married Darla Kapitz, who survives. He dairy farmed in the Town of Deer Creek for most of his life until retirement in 1992.


He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards and his family, especially his grandchildren.


In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Maralee (Ken) LeBlanc of North Port, Fla., Gail (Scott) Mildbrand of Medford, Neal (Rogene) of Rome, Ga., and Barbara (Jodi) Dassow of Hudson; and six grandchildren, Thomas and Jon Mildbrand, Erich and Rachel Jochimsen and Bella and Nathan Dassow.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Leland, Cyril and Albert; and a sister, Gladys Leader.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hope Hospice of Medford and Rib Lake.
 

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
