----Noonan, Elaine (January 11, 1927 - March 28, 2010)

 

Together again, on March 28, 2910, Elaine Noonan, age 83 of Gilman, beloved wife, mother of four, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of four, passed away peacefully.

 

A Christian Burial Mass was held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, with Father John Long officiating. Burial was at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.

 

Elaine was born January 11, 1927 in Milan, the daughter of the late Rudy and Rose (Brunner) Paul.

 

She graduated from high school and then the Medford Normal School. She taught all 12 grades at Nightingale School east of Gilman for a while. Elaine then spent the rest of her career teaching elementary and remedial grades for the Gilman School District.

 

On November 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to David C. Noonan in Chicago, Ill. They moved to the Gilman area where they farmed for 20 years. The couple liked to travel, fish and play cards. They always enjoyed helping others.


Elaine is survived by her children, David Noonan Jr. of Gilman, James (Colleen) Noonan of Centuria, Richard (Mary) Noonan of Thorp and Sandy (Wayne) Smith of White Stone, Va.; one brother, Donald (Dorothy) Paul; and two sisters, Joyce (Leon) Reckner and Verna Hoefs.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Noonan Sr.

 

Gilman Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
