Oscar "Ken" K. Borman, 86, Medford, died Monday, March 29 at Colonial Center Nursing Home in Colby, where he had resided the past month, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers are Randy and Daniel Meschefske, Allen Borman, Fred Roeber, Timothy Marth and Sam Porten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Oscar Borman was born July 26, 1923 in the Town of Goodrich to the late Albin A. and Dora M. (Marschner) Borman. He attended Washington Grade School in the Town of Goodrich.

On September 11, 1948 in the Town of Hamburg, Marathon County, he married Jean A. Marth, who preceded him in death on November 24, 2000. They farmed in the Town of Medford from 1952 until his retirement in 1989. He also worked at Rief Motors in Medford where he was a mechanic from 1955 to 1968, and at the lumberyard at Hurd Millwork in Medford.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, playing sheepshead and square dancing.

Survivors include five children, Robert (Jane) of Medford, Karen (Jan) Toubl of Beloit, Bruce of Rib Lake, James (Ellen) of Curtiss and Linda Borman of Wausau; a sister, Betty Lou Meschefske of Stetsonville; nine grandchildren, Adam Borman, Michael (Kristen) Toubl, Jeremy (Sam) Toubl, Kelly (Michael) Clobes, Jeffrey, Jacob, Jason (Lynn) and Misty Borman, and Jennifer Degenhardt; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glen; two sisters, Annabelle Walther and Carrie Mae Meschefske; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Borman; a brother-in-law, Clyde Meschefske; and a sister-in-law, Idella Borman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family to be designated at a later date.
