----Liazuk, Pearl M. (November 3, 1913 - October 13, 2008)

 

Pearl M. Liazuk, 94, Stanley, died Monday, Oct. 13 at Chippewa Manor.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.


Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service.


The former Pearl Nichols was born November 3, 1913 in Lena, Ill., to the late Henry and Caroline (Paul) Nichols.

 

As a young girl she moved to the Wisconsin Dells area and later to Gilman where she grew up and attended area schools.


On May 26, 1936 in Medford, she married Walter Liazuk, who preceded her in death in 2001.

 

They lived in Gilman and Thorp before moving to Stanley in 1956 where they owned and operated Liazuk's Bar and Cafe for many years. She later worked as a nurse's aide for Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.


She was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church.


Survivors include her children, Dean of Eau Claire, Darlene (Dale) Tieman of Wausaukee, Wanda Tramm of Staples, Minn., Duane (Barbara) of Fond du Lac, Dale (Suzanne) of Oconomowoc and Dae (Richard) Jacobson of Stanley; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Alois Olichwier of Bloomer; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gladys Lund.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Olichwier in 2007; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Goldene Hartzell.
