Lee J. Bix, 83, Medford, died Saturday, June 12 at his home, while under the care of his family and hospice.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, June 17 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating, and military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Inurnment will take place at Molitor Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Molitor.


Lee Bix was born August 9, 1926 in Medford to the late Robert and Helena (May) Bix. He attended Medford area schools and was a 1944 graduate of Medford High School. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946.


On September 23, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he married Esther Ackermann, who survives. He worked at various places in Medford including 39 years at Hurd Millwork, retiring in 1989.


He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and past member of Medford Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, carpentry work and was an avid football and hockey fan.


In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Jim (Ginny) of Thorp, Barb (Gene) Moser of Medford, Kathy (Brad) Trimner of Park Falls and Pat (Randall) Malin of Park City, Utah; and three grandchildren, Nick Trimner of Superior, Chris Trimner of Bloomington, Minn., and Lily Malin of Park City.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; and a sister, Rita Schneller.
