Linwood Harris
Stevens Point--Linwood S. Harris, 74, of 1430 Torum Road, Stevens point, died Friday morning at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Berea Baptist Church, Stevens Point, with the Rev. George Pease officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at Boston Funeral Home, Stevens Point and again at 10 a.m. Monday until services at the church.
A memorial will be established in his name.
Mr. Harris was born July 20, 1912, in Medford, a son of the late Frederick and Mabel Harris. He attended Medford area schools.
He married Martha Mowery Nov. 16, 1946, at Congregational Church, Curtiss. She survives.
He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years and then worked as a cheesemaker in the Colby and Marshfield area.
He also did carpentry work for most of his life. He was a custodian for Stevens Point area schools from 1961-74.
Mr. Harris was a member of Berea Baptist Church and was active in the Riverside Bible Conference, Amherst.
Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, the Rev. Brian P. Harris of 905 N. Anton Ave., the Rev. Dale Harris of Wagner, S.D., and Kevin J. Harris of Minneapolis; one daughter, Marilee Sirkis of Plover; four sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ellen) Pierce of Merrimac; Mrs. Grace Wigstadt of Dorchester; Mrs. Arlie (Beatrice) Krohn of Marshfield and Mrs. Reuben (Ethel) Vieth of Dorchester; one brother, John Harris of Evansville and 10 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother and one sister.
