Robert "Bob" C. Pearson, 89, Medford, died Saturday, Dec. 12 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where he had resided the past 3-1/2 years.

 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. James LeMaster officiating.

 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

 

Robert Pearson was born October 20, 1920 during a snow storm in Abby, Saskatchewan, Canada, to the late Axel and Mary (Fuller) Pearson. He graduated from Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Minn.

 

His family moved to Oxboro, Minn., when he was a child and he helped raise mink and fox on the family business Oxboro Fur Farm with his father and brother Don, from 1927 to 1957. Oxboro Fur Farm then relocated to Newton in 1957.

 

On July 8, 1961 in Manitowoc, he married Charolette D. Brandes, who survives.

 

He raised mink at Oxboro Fur Farm until 1970, then worked at Hamachek General Motors Dealer in Manitowoc as the parts manager until his retirement in 1984. They moved to the Medford area in 1991.

 

He was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship of Stetsonville and the Horseless Carriage Club of America. He enjoyed organic gardening, camping, and visiting relatives in British Columbia, Canada and Bloomington. He also restored antique cars and sponsored antique car tours.

 

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Kirsebom and Helen (Kenneth) Drangstveit, both of Bloomington; a brother, Don (Viola) of Newton; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
