----Hamrick, Ronald (June 24, 1943 - November 14, 2009)

Ronald G. Hamrick, 66, of Minocqua, passed away on November 14, 2009 after
suffering a heart attack while bow hunting.

Ron was born on June 24, 1943 at home on his family farm in Holway.

After completing grade school in a one-room schoolhouse, he went on to graduate from Medford High School in 1961. After marrying his high school
sweetheart, Karen, his surviving wife of 47 years, he moved to Minocqua in
1963 and started a family. Ron was employed at WPS for 35 years and retired
at the age of 58.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting everything from
rabbits and grouse to bears and, his most loved passion, deer. Ron had been
deer hunting since he was 12 years old, not a single season missed in 54 years. He was a member of the Minocqua Gun Club, the North American Hunting
Club and the NRA. He also taught Hunter Safety courses for 15 years.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, cousin and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Ingrid Hamrick of Medford; wife, Karen Hamrick
of Minocqua; son, Jeff Hamrick of Minocqua; daughters, Kim Hamrick of
Appleton and NeKole (Sean Maloney) Hamrick of Orlando, Fla.; brother-in-law,
Dean (Marcia) Naumann of Minocqua; and sister, LeNore Wilson of Poynette. He is further survived by Doug Frey, to whom Ron was a father figure, and many
nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A memorial service was held November 17, 2009 at Bolger Funeral Home in
Minocqua, which was immediately followed by A Celebration of Life Dinner at
the American Legion Hall. Hundreds of family members and friends gathered to
share fond memories of his life. Ron touched the lives of so many, which was
made evident by the overwhelming attendance and outpouring of love. The family would like to extend their heartfelt apologies to those who came and were unable to pay their respects. Please believe Ron knew you were there. Words cannot truly express the heartfelt thanks for all the love and support at this tragic time.

Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services assisted the family.
