----Guziak, Elaine Margaret (May 20, 1925 - November 2, 2009)

Elaine Margaret Guziak, 84, of Milton, Mass., passed away November 2, 2009
at John Adams Health Care Center in Quincy, Mass., after succumbing to a
courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 7 by Rev. Peter Casey at
10:30 a.m. in St. Agatha Catholic Church in Milton. Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home in Dorchester, Mass. Interment will be in Medford Cemetery at a later date.

Elaine was born May 20, 1925 in Medford, the daughter of Edward and Ella
(Steinert) Lindow.

Upon graduation from Medford Senior High School, Elaine worked as a clerk
for Price County distributing rations during World War II. She married John
Guziak on October 17, 1946 in Abbotsford. They lived in Medford for many
years where they raised 10 children, five sons and five daughters. After raising her family Elaine attended Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids where she obtained her realtor's license as well as completing several business and computer courses. Elaine practiced real estate in Wisconsin for several years prior to relocating to Boston, Mass., where she was employed at John Hancock Insurance as an administrative assistant, retiring at the age of 75.

Elaine dedicated her life to her family and her love for them was endless. She treasured her family and loved to be surrounded by them. A twinkle in the eyes and a great sense of humor always brought a smile or a giggle from those who had contact with her. She never passed up an opportunity to play a board game with her children/grandchildren and enjoyed painting. Elaine had a strong commitment to the Lord and left her heirs with strong Christian ethics. Music was also part of her heritage and is one of many gifts passed on to her family. Some of her fondest memories were times spent at the cabin in Clam Lake, family reunions to Cape Cod, Colorado, Wisconsin and California, as well as her travels to Hawaii, Alaska and Ireland. Elaine made friends easily and kept in touch with many of them throughout the years. She would look forward to yearly trips back to Medford to visit with her lifetime friends. Prior to living at John Adams Health Care Center, Elaine resided in a senior housing facility in Milton for several years.
While living in Milton, Elaine made many lasting friendships and was an active member in The Legion of Mary at St. Agatha's Church.

Elaine M. Guziak (Lindow) was the beloved wife of the late John Guziak. Loving mother of 10 children, Robert Guziak of Los Angeles, Calif., Joanne and husband Joe Grassa of Milton, Julienne and husband William Verbrick of Nekoosa, William Castar of Los Angeles, James and wife Cindy of Anaheim, Calif., Kay Jackson of Milton, John and wife Valerie of Westchester, Calif., Sue and husband Tom Gaber of Rhinelander, Linda Guziak of Quincy, and Paul and wife Barb of Coto de Caza, Calif. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, John and wife Susan of Sacramento, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ella Lindow of Medford;
and her brother, Edward Lindow.
