Shirley Mae Waskowiak, 80, Westboro, died Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Golden
LivingCenter in Rib Lake.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. at Good
Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro. Pallbearers will be
Barb Waskowiak, Duane Scott, Duane Sheets, Howie Waide, Jason Evert, Jason Schuppel, Jeannie Scott, John Chasteen,Laurie Evert, Leon Ernenputsch and Robert Chasteen.
 
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Mark Priniski officiating, and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
 
The former Shirley Rogers was born November 23, 1928 in Wisconsin Rapids to
the late William M. and Irene V. (Denny) Rogers. She attended grade school
in Stevens Point and was a 1946 graduate of PJ Jacobs High School in Stevens
Point. She moved to Milwaukee where she attended the Milwaukee School of
Nursing graduating in March of 1950.
 
On August 26, 1950 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake, she
married Clarence Waskowiak, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1980. She
worked as a nurse at Milwaukee County Hospital for one year and later at
Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake for 11 years, as well as five years as a volunteer. In 1977 they moved to Westboro where she has lived ever since.
 
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
 
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Hudson and Patrick of Westboro; a
daughter, Geraldine (John) Chasteen of LaValle; a sister, Marjorie (Clarence) Schlais of Westboro; seven grandchildren, Jason (Teri) Evert, Laurie Evert, Robert Chasteen, Barbara Waskowiak, Sue (David) Zimmerman, Jason Schuppel and Matthew (Sharon) Waskowiak; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Waide on May 26, 2009.
 
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family
with arrangements.
