William "Bill" F. Pendergast, 87, Town of Richmond, died Wednesday, Oct. 21
at his home.
 
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Shawano, with Rev. Len Evers officiating, and military
rites conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post No. 117.
 
Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake on Saturday, Oct. 24.
 
Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano assisted the family with arrangements.

William F. "Bill" Pendergast, age 87, of the Town of Richmond, passed away
Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his home.
 
Born on December 11, 1921 in Ashland, he was the son of the late Raymond
Emil and Florence (McLellan) Pendergast.
 
After graduating from high school, Bill enlisted with the United States Army
and served his country for more than three years during World War II.
 
On November 30, 1946 he was united in marriage to Stella Bieniek in Rib
Lake.
 
Bill lived all of his life in Wisconsin where he worked for Hurd Millwork in
Medford and later at Buckstaff Furniture Company in Oshkosh.
 
After retiring, Bill and Stella moved to the Shawano area in 2000. Bill was
a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano and the Disabled
American Veterans. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the concertina.
 
Bill is survived by: his wife of nearly 63 years, Stella; 8 children, Dan (Theresa) Pendergast of NC, Judith Pendergast of Wausau, Kathleen (Tom) Klein of Harshaw, John (Lisa) Pendergast of Cedarburg, Mark (Diane) Pendergast of Omro, Carol Pendergast of Oshkosh, David (special friend, Lisa Lecus) Pendergast of Shawano; Kris (Alan) VanNatta of Eagle River; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. Bill is further survived by 5 brothers: Archie Pendergast of Plover, Robert (Virginia) Pendergast of Wausau, Kenneth (Delores) Pendergast of CA, Francis Pendergast of Stevens Point, Patrick Pendergast of Menominee, MI; 3 sisters, Elaine Marschke of Stevens Point, Rita (Ray) Stepaniak of Stevens Point, Grace Brown of TX; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; and 3 brothers, Keith, Ray Jr., and Richard.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers
officiating. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano
on Friday from 10 a.m. to the procession leaves for the church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the church following the service. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake on Saturday, October 24, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 17, 319 Shorelane Street, Oshkosh, WI 54901.
