Edward "Ed" J. Kapfhamer, 86, Medford, died Saturday, Nov. 6. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Nov. 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating.

Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Honorary pallbearers were Willis Ross, Clifford Peche, Clifford Zenner, Hank Deml, Sandy Dahl and Irene Piller.


Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Edward "Ed" J. Kapfhamer, 86, of Medford died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin will officiate. Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.

Visitations will be at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the church.

Kapfhamer was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Medford to Jacob and Anna (Hoffman) Kapfhamer. He married Angeline "Angie" J. Querin on May 26, 1948. He owned and operated his own business where he did carpentry, and made furniture and home building and remodeling until his retirement in 1984.

He is survived by his wife Angie of Medford, his children Gary (Debbie) of Medford, Dan (Jane) of Medford, Thomas (William Thompson) of Minneapolis, David (Liz) of Medford, Peggy (Ruth Robb) Kapfhamer of Oxford, Mich., Jeanne (Bruce) Jari of Medford, Cathy (Jim) Laduron of Nekoosa and Mary (Monte) Olson of Medford, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters Helen Seibel of Medford, Irene Piller of Neenah, Florence (Ed) Sloniker of Greenwood and Sandy Dahl of Medford.
