Norman L. Gebauer, 83, Medford, died Monday, Sept. 28 at his home, under the
care of his family and hospice.
 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. James Krueger officiating.
Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen
Cemetery II. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
 
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time
of the service.
 
Norman Gebauer was born August 8, 1926 in the Town of Greenwood to the late
Frank and Minnie (Berger) Gebauer. He attended Sunny Knoll grade school in
the Town of Greenwood.
 
On September 14, 1946 in Medford, he married Ann Halopka, who survives. In
his early years he did trucking work and other jobs, then worked for 41
years at Hurd Millwork in Medford until his retirement. While working at
Hurd, he also did carpentry work and home building.
 
He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting,
woodworking, playing cards, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Robert)
Schesel of Thorp; a son, Bill (Bonnie) of Medford; a brother, Raymond "Ray"
(Brenda) of Fisher, Ill.; two sisters, Loretta Brahmer of Medford and Doris
(Eugene) Schlais of West Allis; daughter-in-law, Maggie Gebauer of Medford;
son-in-law, Douglas Grube of New Boston, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and 19
great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alana
Grube in 1994; a son, Lex in 2007; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; two
sisters, Amelia Dassow and Marie Willner; and three brothers, Henry, Frank
and Arthur.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the family for a future
designation.
 
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
