----Nelson, Victoria "Vic" Agnes (Swanson) (January 8, 1911 - August 18, 2009)  

 

Victoria "Vic" Agnes Nelson, 98, Ogema, died Tuesday, Aug. 18 at her home under the care of family and hospice.  

 

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 24 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, with Rev. Robert Giese officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Pallbearers were Kevin Johnson, Ken Johnson, Steve Rhyner, Perry Larson, Rick Larson and Tom Larson. 

 

The former Victoria Swanson was born January 8, 1911 in Spirit to the late John August and Emma K. (Johanson) Swanson. 

 

On September 17, 1931 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, she married Theodore V. Nelson, who preceded her in death. 

 

She was a member of First Lutheran Church for most of her life where she was a member of the Miriam Circle, active with the Altar Guild, and Sunday school superintendent and teacher. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, and was a seamstress. 

 

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia (Edward) Larson of Beloit; a son-in-law, Carl Johnson of Phillips; a sister, Emily Burgeson of Ogema; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. 

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Edith (Walter) Hayberg, Esther (George) Petcu, Gerda (Ragnar) Nelson and Viola (Henry) Zielke; two brothers, Henry and one in infancy; a daughter, Eileen Johnson on August 11, 2001 and a granddaughter-in-law, Carol Johnson. 

 

Memorials in her honor may be given to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.  

 

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
