----Dassow, Robert Walter Sr. (January 16, 1932 - October 11, 2008)

 

Robert Walter Dassow Sr., 76, Medford, died Saturday, Oct. 11 at his home. Private services will be held.


Robert Dassow was born January 16, 1932 to the late Henry and Bertha (Barkow) Dassow Sr.
On June 26, 1954 he married Betty Marie Rochester, who preceded him in death on September 18, 2005. He spent most of his working years as a logger.


He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, hiking in the woods, his animals and helping his family whenever they called. He especially loved his two cats, Tuffy and Reggie.


Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Richert, Susie Holzl and Donna (Don) Kalmon, all of Medford; two sons, Robert Jr. (Gail) and Robin (Jeany), both of Medford; two sisters, Darlene Drager and Ardella (Herman) Dohrwardt, both of Medford; four brothers, Alvin Sr. (Mary Ann), Harold Sr. (Marion), Arnold and Henry Jr. (Janice), all of Medford; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly) Dassow, Corey (Trisha) Dassow, Jordan Richert, Renee Voss, Randy Voss, Travis Holzl, Jake Dassow, Mindy Kalmon and Mandi Kalmon, all of Medford, and Amy (Matt) Malovrh of Colby; and one great-grandchild.


In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Gumz; four brothers, Donald, Ralph, Hilbert Sr. and Clarence; a grandson, Dustin Dassow; and a son-in-law, Marvin Richert.
