Eve K. Leclair, 85, Wickenburg, Ariz., died Friday, March 19 at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Ariz.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27 at noon at First Presbyterian Church of Wickenberg, with Pastor John Poling officiating. Interment will be at Wickenberg Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Greg Hintz officiating.


Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Wickenburg Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Eve Kathryn (Raab) LeClair

 

Eve was born July 25, 1924 in Catawba, Wisconsin to Adam & Elizabeth Raab. She was raised there and attended schools there working on the family farm in her youth.
 

She graduated from Phillips High School and during WWII she moved to Chicago working in the defense plants where she met her husband Leo "Frenchy" Leclair. They eventually married August 25, 1950 and later took over the family farm and began raising their family.

 

In her later life they moved to Medford so she could attended Taylor County Teachers College. She graduated and later began teaching in Dorchester, WI until moving to Arizona in 1972. She continued teaching working in Wittmann, Morristown and primarily in Aguila.

She taught in Willcox, AZ for a brief time where she began her career in special education. She had substituted here in Wickenburg for years also. Eve was a member and past president of the Wickenburg Business and Professional Women, Past president of the Arizona Retired Teachers Association as well as a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, Shepherd, and in the Stevens Ministry.

 

She was also active in the Emmaus Community and a member of the Ruby Red Hats. She enjoyed attending the R & R respite center. She volunteered extensively in the community and was always a very generous and outgoing person. Eve had the ability to make friends with ease and develop lasting relationships.

She was the "Ultimate Mom". Eve was preceded in death by her husband Leo "Frenchy" Leclair on Oct, 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Adam, Bill and Herman Raab, and a sister Millie Bochler.

She is survived by her children: David Leclair (Nancy) of Phoenix, Debbie Wright (Glenn) of Morristown, Dawn Adams-Gatke (Dennis) of Wickenburg, Douglas Leclair (Becky) of LaCrosse, WI., brother Gust Raab of Rice Lake, WI, sister Edith Denny of Phillips, WI., nine grandchildren: Joshua Leclair, Hannah Hach, Zachary Leclair, Dustin Wright, Brian Wright, Jonathan Leclair, Hannah E. Leclair, Eric Adams and Luke Adams, Great-grandchildren: Kaylee and Alexander Hach and several extensive close family nieces and nephews, locally JoAnn and Jim Zimpher of Wickenburg.
