----Grunwald, Carol V. (26 June 1925 - 25 May 2009)

MEDFORD -- Carol V. Grunwald, 83, of Medford (town of Little Black) died Monday, May 25, 2009, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Entombment will take place at 11 a.m. June 1 at Shrine of the Good Shepherd, Green Bay.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford where there will be a 6:45 p.m. Medford VFW and Stetsonville American Legion Auxiliary Service, and a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will be held again Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Carol was born June 26, 1925, in the town of Deer Creek to Reinhard and Esther (Ellingson) Raasch. She was united in marriage Nov. 1, 1945, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Stetsonville to Harry Riemer. He preceded her in death June 4, 1979. She was married Jan. 31, 1981, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford to Howard "Howie" W. Grunwald.

After her marriage to Harry, they lived in the Medford area, where she was a housewife and mother. They then moved to the Catawba area, where she helped her husband at the Catawba Farmer's Co-op for a number of years. They then moved to the Green Bay area, where they ran various cheese factories until Harry's retirement. After Harry's death, she moved back to the Medford area, where she married Howard Grunwald.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Grunwald of Medford; her children, Sandra (Norman) Peters of Suamico, Terrance (Bev) Riemer of Brillion, Marge (Stuart) Carpenter of Green Bay, Michael (Deb) Riemer of Medford, Bonita Riemer of Green Bay, Russel (Kathy) Riemer of Ossian, Ind., and Patrick Riemer of Green Bay. She is further survived by her stepchildren, Janice (Gary) Nance of Benicia, Calif., Ruth Roeber of Medford, James (Sharon) Grunwald of Medford, Joseph (Peggy) Grunwald of Medford and Anne Smith of Medford; nine grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Joyce) Raasch of Dorchester.
