(4 Mar. 1926 - 26 Apr. 2009) MEDFORD -- Floyd A. Querin, 83, a town of Medford resident, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, where full military rites will be performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. prayer service; and again from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Floyd was born March 4, 1926, at Medford, to Angelo "Andrew" and Caroline (Kowalski) Querin. He was united in marriage Aug. 9, 1952, in Medford to Regina T. Meyer. She preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2006. After his education, he served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific, later working in Texas building grain elevators. He then worked for Eau Claire Engineers building bridges and then drove truck for Neuendorf Trucking in Medford. After their marriage, the couple started their own business called Querin's Service, Auto Repair, Service Station, Used Car Dealership and Tavern for a number of years. In 1976, he started driving truck for Tombstone Pizza until his retirement in 1985. He is survived by a sister, Angie (Ed) Kapfhamer of Medford; five brothers, Verdie (Jan) Querin of Kent, Wash., Eugene (Carol) Querin of Medford, Ted Querin of Davenport, Iowa, Jerry (Jeanne) Querin of New Berlin and Jim Querin of Lytle, Texas. |
