Surnames: Basta, Bucher, Kiesl, LaFrance, Lahm, Skrzynski ----Source: The Star News (Medford, Taylor Co., WI), Thursday, April 30, 2009, Online Edition ----Skrzynski, Patricia “Pat” Theresa (Basta) (May 2, 1930 - April 23, 2009) Patricia "Pat" Theresa Skrzynski, 78, Rib Lake, died Thursday, April 23 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The former Patricia Basta was born May 2, 1930 in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Gertrude (Kiesl) Basta. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School in Milwaukee. She helped her parents care for all their foster children and worked at Basta's Tap. She also worked at Johnson Cookie and Candy Co. in West Milwaukee, Heinemann's Restaurant, where she met her husband, and later as a linen aid for 11 years at St. Michael's Hospital in Milwaukee. On June 21, 1953 at St. Casmir's Catholic Church in Milwaukee, she married Raymond Joseph Skrzynski. She moved to Nashville, Tenn., in 1985 and worked as a housekeeper for a private family, then moved to Prentice in 1998. She enjoyed bowling, softball, ballroom dancing and was a member of the Fred Astaire Ballroom Dance Studio in Milwaukee, fishing and hunting with her husband, going to the cabin in Princeton, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Michael of Twin Lake, Mich., Patrick (Denise) of Delafield, Theresa Skrzynski of Jackson and Laurie Skrzynski of Prentice; two sisters, Catherine (Roger) Lahm of Sheboygan and Kathie (Francis) LaFrance of Sussex; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen in 2007; and a brother, Paul. Memorial contributions in her honor may be given to the family.
